Braemar Rd Safety update
We’ve been given this safety notice from Meridian Energy about parts of the first section of the Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail.
Starting on the 25th February 2014 Meridian would like to inform all users of Haymans Road and Braemar Road that over the next 3-5 weeks, Rooney Earthmoving will be hauling rocks from Braemar Station to the Pukaki Dam site. We apologise for any inconvenience to other road users during this time. Meridian always endeavour to carry out works in a safe manner, and to be respectful of other road users and cyclists.
They ask all cyclists to please travel safely and abide by the road rules. Keep to the left and have a safe trip and highly recommend a hi-viz vest for this section.
As part of our Cycle Tours we have always issued all riders with hi viz safety vests, to date it has been voluntary whether or not you choose to use them. From now on, please note it will be compulsory for all riders to use hi viz vests on all road sections of the A2O trail whilst on one of our tours. Feel free to bring your own if you have one.
